Charming Low-Tox Carolina Beach Cottage

We rented this location in order to escape the ice storm in the Triangle area in January 2026. This is a well located traditional cottage. It's less than a three block walk to the Carolina Beach Boardwalk, public beach access, local businesses and restaurants. This is an older building, with off-street parking, with some recent interior updates. The primary bedroom is spacious and features a large closet. The adjoining bathroom has a double vanity and an adequate shower. The second bedroom features two twin beds suitable for small children and teens. The new laundry equipment was a plus. The main living space is compact, but not uncomfortable. The living room features a short couch and recliner. There is a high top table in the dining area with six high chairs. The kitchen is galley style but wide and long, with an enormous amount of cabinet space. There's also a built-in desk and shelves, and a small breakfast nook. When we visited, the kitchen had some updates. The stove and microwave appeared newer, but the dishwasher and refrigerator were both older and had signs of wear from long use. Unfortunately, the freezer was clearly marked with a Dymo printed label: ice maker does not work. We bought a bag of ice.The caretaker, Christopher, was friendly and very responsive to our questions and requests. Check in was breeze with a personalized front door keypad code. Wi-Fi connection was quick and fast. The cold weather did not allow us to use the front porch or back deck.
