Big House At Lo de Marcos Nayarit

Big House is in a great location, very close to the beach and the central part of town. The owner, Alejandra, and the house manager, Maria, were easily available and welcoming. We appreciated finding a house that is pet friendly and close to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked with the basics for cooking. The A/C in the 3 upstairs bedrooms was good. We used the bedroom with a comfortable queen bed, which I notice was listed as a king bed. The outdoor shower, perfect to use after time at the beach, was a nice touch. Be aware that the "pool" is only suitable for wading. Good for kids.

We did not find this to be a comfortable place to stay for 2 reasons: There is no glass in any of the windows in the house. There are screens and shutters. Any time we were using air conditioning, it made no sense to have the shutters open. We would have lost all the cool air to the outdoors. In any case, the only way to open the upstairs shutters was using a ladder. With closed shutters it felt gloomy. The other problem we had was that there was no comfortable seating indoors or out. We brought cushions with us for the straight backed kitchen chairs. Outdoors there were only concrete benches and no good spot to enjoy the outdoors there in any case. Two plastic "beer chairs" would have been a welcome addition.
