Aci Catena ancient country fiefdom and the other Aci drew its origin from Xiphonia, a mysterious Greek city that has now completely disappeared. The poets Virgil and Ovid traced the foundation myth to the love story between the nymph Galatea and the shepherd Aci, who was killed out of jealousy by the Cyclops Polyphemus, who crushed his rival under a boulder. The gods, tenderhearted by Galatea's heartbreaking grief, transformed the shepherd boy into the mostly subterranean river Aci (Akis in Greek) and mixed his waters with those of the nymph who had dissolved in tears. Thus Acis and Galatea could continue to be together in the cool, bubbling waters of the stream that welcomed them.

There are cameras only located outside the house, while inside there are only the presence detectors that do not take video footage and are connected to the burglar alarm system, which remains deactivated throughout the guests' stay.
