On the shores of a private lake at Moulin de Lapeyre, in Saint-Estèphe, Dordogne, discover a unique 25-hectare estate home to two magnificent gîtes: the Chalet sur l'Eau and the Maison du Meunier. The Chalet sur l'Eau offers: - 3 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms with 3 toilets, 1 additional sleeping area, - fully equipped kitchen, - terrace built over the water with dining area, electric griddle and panoramic views, - living room with TV and Wi-Fi, - laundry room with washing machine, - air conditioning, - accessible to a person with reduced mobility (PRM). Wheelchair accessible. For the complete safety of your children and pets (2 welcome), we have installed a wooden barrier around the chalet. THE MILLER'S HOUSE, nestled 25 meters from the lake: - 3 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms with 3 toilets, - fully equipped kitchen, - large living room with dining area for 12 people, - terrace overlooking the vast grounds of the mill, - laundry room with washing machine, - TV, Wi-Fi. You will have the option of sharing your meals in the large living room of the House. from the Miller's or on the Chalet terrace overlooking the lake. 5 parking spaces are available. We provide bed linen (beds are made upon your arrival), towels and household linen, cleaning products (soap, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, sponges, laundry detergent...). Please note that the banks of our 3-hectare private lake are not protected: do not allow your children to walk there without being accompanied by an adult. Swimming in the lake is not permitted. THE ACTIVITIES: In addition to peace and quiet, you can enjoy our 3-hectare private lake and the approximately 60,000 cubic meters of water that feed the Moulin de Lapeyre below. Around the lake, numerous walks, hikes, and bike rides will allow you to discover nature at your own pace, whatever your level or desires. An ideal setting to observe wildlife, recharge in the fresh air, or enjoy catch-and-release fishing year-round in complete tranquility. Please note that the Grand Étang de Saint-Estèphe (800 meters from the chalet), the largest body of water in the department, is a magnificent public site authorized for swimming in July and August. - LA GASTRONOMY: Foie Gras, Duck Breast, Truffles, Porcini Mushrooms, Bergerac Wines... the Périgord is a land of culinary delights! Le Val de Chanedière (10 minutes away) offers farm visits where you can stroll among the animals. You will also find restaurants on the shores of the Grand Étang de Saint Estèphe (800 meters from the chalet). We will finally give you all the essential addresses for a wonderful gastronomic stay! VISIT THE PÉRIGORD: You are here in the heart of history, where the rich heritage boasts an incredible number of castles, monuments, prehistoric caves, and charming villages. Visit: - The fortified town of Nontron (10 minutes away), famous for centuries for its cutlery tradition and ideal for its shops, supermarkets, and restaurants. - The town of Piégut-Pluviers (8 minutes away), where a typical Périgord market, renowned throughout northern Dordogne, is held every Wednesday morning! You will also find excellent shops and restaurants. - Don't leave without visiting Brantôme, the Venice of Périgord (35 minutes away), famous for its architectural treasures, its angled bridge, its abbey, and its delightful riverside restaurants. We recommend renting canoes to explore the Dronne Valley: you'll appreciate the calm of this river and its bucolic landscapes. PGJyPg - VILLARS CAVE (30 minutes away): the guided tour will allow you to discover magnificent prehistoric paintings, impressive calcite flows, and delicate stalactites. Don't miss the activities in the prehistoric garden! PGJyPg - PUYGUILHEM CASTLE (30 minutes away) from our gîte, very close to the Villars Caves, discover the best-preserved Renaissance castle in the Périgord. Don't miss the dovecote and the boxwood maze. The site is a listed historical monument. PGJyPg - SARLAT (2 hours away): plan a day trip to the Périgord Noir and discover the veritable open-air museum that is the town of Sarlat!
