About this house rental

*** Booking conditions ***
- A deposit of 1,500.00 euros will be requested upon arrival when the keys are handed over and given directly to the owner or his representative.

***The property***
This beautifully restored charming mansion sits atop a hill with superb views of the surroundings. In the 13 ha park, private tennis (quick), secure heated swimming pool (12X6), table tennis and outdoor games are available to tenants. This house, from the start, was designed as a place of rest and relaxation. This rare charm has been preserved over time: most of the living rooms have a double exposure which guarantees maximum sunshine, the thickness of the walls guarantees freshness during the summer, period fireplaces allow at the start or at the end of the season to spend convivial moments in front of the living heat that the fire gives off. The 17th century elegance and modern comfort of the rest of the furniture, a large fully equipped kitchen and access to leisure activities such as piano (tuned), library, CD, DVD, satellite TV, table football ... you will allow you to spend a great holiday in Périgord

***The swimming pool***
The private outdoor swimming pool (12 x 6 m) has a safety shutter. It is heated to 26 ° C from early April to early October only.

In the immediate vicinity of the house, several well-maintained and sufficiently equipped spaces are available to you:
For outdoor dining, a large wooden table (12 people) is located near the kitchen. A barbecue is available (grilling also possible in the kitchen fireplace). Another wooden table (8 people) is located next to the swimming pool.
For the walk, a romantic alley in the middle of the woods where, depending on the season, you may discover chanterelles and porcini mushrooms.
For food lovers, fruit trees, most of which have become wild again, will, depending on the time, offer you plums, figs, pears and apples of yesteryear.
For athletes, private tennis (quick), heated heated swimming pool (12X6), table tennis and outdoor games are available.

The property is 2 km from the small village of Coulounieix. There you will find a bakery, a small cafe and a farmer's market which is held every Sunday morning in church square.
At 7km you will discover Périgueux, the ancient Cité Vésunna and its Gallo-Roman remains.
It is the capital of Périgord, classified 'city of Art and History' with its narrow alleys lined with private mansions, its protected districts and its Saint-Front cathedral, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site by the ways of Santiago de Compostela.

Within a radius of 30 to 50 km you can visit Brantôme, the "Venice of Périgord" as well as the very beautiful castle of Bourdeilles or even that of Puyguillhem inspired by the great Loire Castles. You can also discover the most famous prehistoric sites such as the Lascaux cave or even explore the Bergerac vineyard which is located south of Périgueux.
Périgord traditionally famous for its natural and historical heritage is also famous for its gastronomy. A wide choice of restaurants and lively markets throughout the year will guarantee you a full discovery.

We have travelled to many towns in this beautiful part of our planet, from groups of 6 (my family) to much larger groups with friends and family groups - this place was epic - service from start to finish - Pascal was around when we needed him, the house and grounds were perfect - the kitchen facilities one of the best for a large group (we were 14) - the Tennis court was a brilliant option to have and use - bike rides (tough hills) are wonderful - would definitely return, for more relaxation/ sun/ food/ wine and a place to create and shre wonderful memories - oh and the local boulangerie/Patiiserie! outstadning 10/10 from us - merci bcp

It is rare to get the opportunity to stay at a property that has this much history yet all modern comfort and design & art that will blow you away. The original structure of the manor is from 1590, but there are also remains of a Roman building and there were finds from prehistoric times on the site. It was the perfect spot for exploring the region- the medieval castles and prehistoric caves, and all the culinary delights. Pascal was the perfect host; very responsive and ready to help with everything. We were a group of 10 staying for a week. Everyone really adored the place. We didn't really use the swimming pool as it was not very warm weather, but my teenage sons and nephews loved the tennis court-- they had never played before and now it has become their thing. I highly recommend Chef Jauvin- you have to hire him for at least a night. We were at a really nice restaurant in Perigord-- L'Essentiel-- but we actually preferred the dinner M. Laurent prepared at home. I wish I could share a picture of the cozy setting he prepared in the main dining room. I have rented many houses and apartments, but nothing this special. It's like a curated space. I wish we could have spent more time - one week is not enough to explore the region. The highlight was the cave of Rouffignac (recommended by Pascal- real caves with pre-historic carvings, not the replica shown in Lascaux) and a canoe trip on the Dordogne from Carsac to Beynac. Canoe Loisirs were great. Overall a fantastic trip.

A unique country home in a picturesque setting with plenty of space for the family. The home is well appointed, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen is VERY well equipped. The pool and tennis court are a plus. There is a lot to see and do in the area and Pascal was generous with his recommendations and quick to answer any questions we had. The on-site catered dinner was a highlight. A car is essential.
