High Peaks Villa is a stunning pet-friendly Victorian home in the town of Buxton, Derbyshire, offering an appealing blend of period character and bold, design-led interiors. Perfect for friends and families alike, this impressive four-floor property boasts standout features including an elevated garden, private cinema room and balconies with far-reaching views. Step into the inviting living/dining room, where three generous sofas, an armchair and decorative fireplaces create a welcoming social hub, while the fully equipped kitchen caters effortlessly for group dining. The lower ground floor transforms into an atmospheric cinema room complete with oversized bean bags for immersive film nights, alongside a practical boot room and utility. The six bedrooms, each with a Smart TV and its own distinctive style, provide a wide-ranging choice of sleeping arrangements. These include a second-floor king-size, an en suite double, another double with a balcony, a second-floor twin, a family room with a king-size and a single, and a bunk room also with balcony access. A bathroom, two shower rooms and a cloakroom are positioned throughout the house for convenience. Outside, the tiered gardens are a delightful highlight. The ground-level courtyard patio is ideal for a morning coffee, while the elevated rear garden offers a magnificent setting to unwind at sunset. Beyond this, a pathway leads to a secluded upper area reminiscent of a secret garden, perfect for peaceful moments or children’s play. An enclosed side decking area provides yet another appealing outdoor space. Private driveway parking is available for four cars. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. A shop is within 0.1 miles, a pub within 0.5 miles and a river within 1.5 miles. This is a non-smoking property. Please take care on the steps leading to the entrance and note the pond in the upper garden; children must be supervised. Ceiling heights are low at the bottom of the basement stairs and at the doorway into the ground-floor guest toilet. Electric bikes or scooters must not be charged at the property. A £500 GBP Good Housekeeping Bond applies. Hen, stag or similar parties are not permitted, and guests are asked to keep noise low outdoors after 10 pm. Region: The ultimate in “year-round” appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.
Town: It was the constant 28 degrees centigrade of the bubbling blue waters of Buxton's eight thermal springs that originally attracted the Romans to the town. However it was during the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, that the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the magnificent semi-circular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House. Today visitors continue to enjoy these magnificent buildings and gardens, as well as the Opera House's full programme and annual festivals of music and arts. There is good walking close by with rugged peaks to the north and gentle hills and dales to the south and a number of pretty towns and villages are dotted throughout including Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton and Edale. The stunning properties of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within easy driving distance and must be seen while visiting this area. A great base for exploring the Peak District.
