Region: The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.
Town: The fishing village of Muff in Donegal is situated on the banks of Lough Foyle in Donegal, just a stone's throw from the border of Northern Ireland and twenty minutes from Derry Airport. The village of Muff is home to a selection of shops and pubs and is the ‘gateway’ to the Inishowen Peninsula, the largest of all the peninsulas on the island of Ireland. The village hosts the annual Muff Festival each summer and offers visitors a superb base for touring North Donegal. Attractions include Glenevin Waterfall, Ballyliffin Golf Course, Lough Swilly, Lagg sand dunes, Shroove Lighthouse and of course, Malin Head where you can stand at Ireland's most northerly point and where the breathtaking Wild Atlantic Way begins. The historic walled City of Derry is also certainly worth a visit whilst staying in Muff.
