    The photos do not do this hotel justice - the room and bed was much better than I expected and it felt like a 5 star room with a japanese toilet, rainfall shower and bathroom mirror with defrost/lighting around the borders. It almost made me want to stay in the room all day! There is a gym but it was very sparse and there weren't any yoga mats so I couldn't do any pilates/yoga and there are very limited weights. There are planes flying overhead, but I didn't find it troubling, and definitely nowhere near as noisy as staying in Koh Samui. The hotel is only a few minutes walk away from Ninman 1 so it's great if you wanted to stay in this area, but I found I spent most of my time in the Old Town and around the bars on the east side near the river.

    We always enjoy staying at Mai Hotel whenever we travel to Chiang Mai. The bed and pillows are soft and very comfortable, so we always feel relaxed and well rested. impressive staff and clean !! The staff make everything easy and pleasant. Whether we book with breakfast or without, they also offer free coffee downstairs, which is a nice touch.

    We stayed a few nights here. I’ve been to CM several times. I think if your budget is ฿***, then this is the best you could probably do for that price. However, if you could spend a little more, I suggest staying elsewhere. I really wanted to like this place. But the rooms themselves are dated even though the lobby is nice. The Japanese toilet makes the bathroom smell like urine. And the bathroom had a really bad smell the entire time. That air conditioner needed to be clean so we woke up and our room was really hot. It took quite a while to cool it down. There is a balcony, but it’s glass; no air flow. I feel bad because the hotel has robes and tries to make it seem like it’s a better place. But more important things like one ply, toilet paper, make the experience less enjoyable. I wouldn’t recommend this place. the location is good, but the cities a small place. You won’t be too far from anything. Also, it’s behind a restaurant that plays music until 1 am in the morning. The staff is incredible. The whole place just needs a facelift; at least in the rooms.
