Cozy Farm House with River access

Location idyllic. Peaceful--off road. Just horses in neighboring pasture for company. A 2-minute drive to 'town'. Never found how to walk down to the river which was advertised as "property next to river". Bush whack???

Dirt access road to front of house is steep with large holes. Needs to be better graded so car can reach front door for off-loading. Electric light in dining room did not work. Had to take small lamp from bedroom to see our dinner! The contact name was on the information sheet but no number. Found a 310 (L.A. number?) on Booking invoice and left voice mail, but no one called. Lucky it was not an overflowing toilet!!! We managed. Kitchen lighting was baffling but we figured it out finally (One overhead light only). Nice to have indirect lighting over counter? Kitchen was otherwise beautiful. Shower head valve very sensitive--inadequate. Cold or scalding hot.

A If you are fun and rustic like me this is a great place to book. If you are fussy or picky it is not a good match. This is a spacious older ranch style home that belonged to a historic family here. It is clean and the beds are comfy. It looks out over the horse ranch next door and the beautiful golden surrounding hills and old oak trees. There are 6 horses across the neighbor’s fence, many birds, deer, quail and jackrabbits. There is a rustic walk to the rushing river in back that is about 15 ft across. We enjoyed the many restaurants under a mile from here, not to mention Sequoia National Park and Crystal Cave. I am giving it a four so overly fancy people won’t complain after they book. It was just right for us!

Property was super quaint, and was a great location if you’re planning on exploring the national park!

Everything we could have wanted and more. Some houses have a soul and this one had it. Our family loved sitting around the large farm style dinner table then sitting and sipping hot cocoa by the fire place. Waking up to magnificent views in the company of a few horses. Rustic charm of the house that blended perfectly with the scenery. Will come back here anytime!

There was nothing significant enough to complain about.
