From the doorstep of your historic, sunny 3bd/2ba creole cottage, marvel at the vibrant, festive, bohemian Faubourg (neighborhood) of the Marigny. It’s a sensory adventure! Fragrance of sweet olive and jasmine mingles in the steamy dusk with aromas of cajun cooking, crawfish boiling, and that earthy, mossy musk of the mighty Mississippi River. Brassy, bright and dark tones from a sultry saxophone echo in the distance. (Or maybe that’s a riverboat horn?) Even the history of this neighborhood is colorful; Marigny was once the plantation of Creole millionaire Bernard Xavier Philippe de Marigny de Mandeville who developed the land (shortly after the Louisiana Purchase) in order to pay off his gambling debts.
Here, you’re three blocks from the French Quarter and four blocks from Frenchmen, the greatest Jazz street in America. The artists, writers and musicians reside here. This is the neighborhood where Jelly Roll Morton was born. Marigny is an authentic, intoxicating blend of it all! This location allows you to immerse yourself in the experience and live like a local, in the heart of New Orleans. You’ll never regret renting this one-in-a million GEM full of charm, character, luxury, art, antiques & comfort. In the kitchen, polished, original hardwood floors and original brick are complemented by modern state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances, including a large french-door refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. The enchanting stove is a 1950’s era vintage. In this kitchen you can practically smell étouffée sizzling, beignet frying, and chicory coffee steaming!
The dining room boasts a French Farmhouse style table with seating for six, and a vintage piano with ivory keys. Listen closely and you might just hear chords of “Shoe Shiner's Drag” echoing from the past.

The library/living room has two very comfortable brown leather sofas, a velvet armchair, and a gorgeous built-in bookcase full of fascinating literature & memorabilia. If classical books aren’t your cup of tea, stream your favorite shows on the smart TV with included WiFi.
