Whale and Waddle

Where to start - it’s hard to sum up how wonderful our 9 night stay at this beautiful property was. Renee was the perfect host, so welcoming and we loved all of the little touches and care she put into the property. From the complimentary wine and chocolate, to the milk and other starter bits she left for us it really made a difference and made our stay so comfortable. The interior is furnished beautifully and the bed is super comfortable with absolutely incredible views over the ocean and nearby beach with turquoise water (and you get these views from the living area and kitchen!). The garden was also stunning and so lush and well kept despite the hot weather, with little fish in the pond and lots of birds and different plant species. We were working from home for some of the days and the internet was fast and reliable, including for zoom calls and photo transfers/uploads. I also must point out the location which is absolutely perfect - so close by car to nearby Simon’s Town, the famous penguins and a range of beautiful beaches. In the other direction you can take a gorgeous scenic drive along the coast up to cape point which is absolutely stunning. From here we also easily managed half day trips to Constantia wine region, Kirstenbosch botanical garden, and Hout Bay for whale watching, and were able to drive as far as Cape Agulhas (the southern most point of Africa) and back in a day. A real 10/10 stay - thank you Renee for your hospitality and also for your kindness and support when we had some personal issues arise. We highly recommend Whale and Waddle and would love to come back one day!

Magnificent sea views with access to a beautiful garden area with pond. Large accommodation space with lovely linen and well equipped kitchenette. Hostess was very friendly and helped with places to eat and explore.
