Lake-view terrace - Wines and specialities of Domaso

This is a lovely apartment with a stunning out over Lake Como, situated up the hill behind Domaso town, just as the name suggests. The apartment itself is beautiful, with a large fridge (with freezer section), cooking facilities, excellent wi-fi and a really nice bathroom with a great shower. It was 37c when we arrived but fortunately the AC is also excellent and kept the whole place cool, which was especially appreciated through the night. The apartment is on a working vineyard run by a lovely, friendly family. They left us a bottle of their wine for when we arrived and it was so good we bought more from them :) The view from the balcony area outside the apartment is truly stunning, looking out over Domaso and the lake towards Colico and the mountains. We spent every evening eating dinner out there, watching the sun go down and the lights twinkling on the other side of the lake. It's very peaceful as you are away from the town on a very quiet road.

There really isn't anything that we didn't like about our stay. The only thing to be aware of if, like us, you are arriving on foot by ferry or bus is that it is a relatively short but very steep walk up cobbled stone trails to the apartment. We would recommend walking the longer way round up the road or ask the hosts to arrange a taxi for you (which they offered to do for us), particularly if you have wheeled luggage.
