The views

Communication was bad. They charged R3000 for cleaning yet we left the place cleaner than what was given to us. They then charged R3500 refundable deposit. It's been almost 2 weeks still no deposite recieved. Even though I have sent numerous emails and WhatsApp messages and call. Todate 24/02/2026 still no payment.

GREAT HOUSE, beware of undisclosed cleaning fee and almost 3 weeks to get your breakage deposit back

The house is well equipped, with high-quality bedding and beds. Amazing kitchen and great view. Wifi is stable and more than adequate for keeping in touch with your office and staff. Great spot to work remotely.

The property does not have access to a private beach as advertised; it has access to a public beach, although it is a very nice beach. An additional R3 000 cleaning fee was added after our booking was confirmed. This had to be paid directly into the owner’s account before we could gain access to the property. This cost was not disclosed upfront, which is misleading and not transparent. The booking was non-refundable. Had it been refundable, I would definitely have cancelled. Once the booking was confirmed, the confirmation email clearly stated: “You paid with Booking.com—no further payment needed. Please report any payment requests you receive and avoid clicking on payment links.” The Fine Print “Need-to-know information” section for this property on Booking.com currently states: “A damage deposit of ZAR 3,500 is required on arrival. This will be collected by bank transfer. You should be reimbursed on checkout. The deposit will be fully refunded via bank transfer if there is no damage to the property upon inspection after checkout.” We checked out on 13 January, but the breakage deposit was only repaid on 2 February, and then only after multiple follow-up messages to the owner. There is no reasonable justification for an R3 500 breakage deposit to take almost three weeks (20 days) to be refunded. The owner even asked whether the money was reflecting in my account, despite knowing it had not yet been paid at that stage. Similar issues have been raised in other reviews. I write this as the owner of a holiday home; out of 117 reviews, my place has a rating of 4.93/5. Reviews are very important for future guests as an indication of the experience they can expect, and this is the only reason I took the time to write this one. A tip to the owner: state your facts correctly, refund the breakage deposit within five working days, and disclose all costs upfront. You have an amazing home; by doing this, you will receive many 10/10 reviews.

They do not refund your security deposit, stay here with caution!!!

I stayed at this property for a short while and, after nearly a month, still have not received my security deposit. Despite many attempts to contact the owner, I keep getting stalled with empty promises. Their own rules state security deposits should be returned within 14 days, yet this has not happened. Stay here with caution unless you like being lied to.
