Wildcat hostel Yala

stayed here and loved the setting and vibe, slept under the stars with just a net for mozzies and loved it. siva and his staff were amazing and it’s a new hostel so would recommend to help them start up

My friend and I had an excellent experience in this hostel. The hostel manager, Siva was very accommodating. The place itself was very calm and relaxing. We enjoyed the pool so much as well.

An unforgettable stay in the middle of nature Wildcat Hostel Yala is unlike any place I’ve ever stayed. The open-air concept, without walls, makes you feel completely immersed in nature, with incredible views overlooking Yala National Park. Falling asleep surrounded by the sounds of the wild was a truly unique experience. It feels like a true luxury to watch monkeys jumping between the trees while you relax in the pool, or to see countless birds coming down to drink at the water pond throughout the day. Nature is literally all around you. Siwa was extremely helpful and guided us on the best way to arrive with our tuk-tuk — definitely recommended to check with the hostel beforehand on how to get there, as the location is remote and part of the adventure itself. We were also very fortunate to have the owner, Saliya, join us for our safari in Yala. His deep knowledge of wildlife made it the best safari experience we’ve ever had. Entering the park through the Kategamuwa Gate allowed us to experience Yala without the crowds, making the safari feel much more authentic and special. The atmosphere at the hostel is relaxed, adventurous, and very welcoming — perfect for travelers looking for something truly different. Don’t miss visiting Kataragama Temple in the evening and the local market next to it, a wonderful cultural experience to complement the wild side of Yala. Highly recommended for nature lovers and adventurous travelers.

100% recommend this place. This place is incredible. I have stayed there as the first guest on booking. The design of the building is perfectly adapted to the challenges of jungle environment. It’s a sustainable structure overlooking the dense vegetation. You feel totally immersed, particularly by sleeping in a total open space. You feel impressively safe even you are sleeping in front of the jungle. It was an amazing experience. You can be woken up by birds or monkeys. It’s an experience that make you feel your deep human conditions on earth with nature and animals. The hosts make you so comfortable. The food was delicious. The owner and the host were extremely caring. An experience that i canno’t forget. They gave me a huge part of their knowledge. I have stayed there for 2 nights. You can stay more. It’s a calm place where you can fill your energy and all your ressources. There are also a lot to visit, besides Yala National Park, they will give you recommandations and the facilities. Thank you so much for this incredible experience. It would be such an amazing memory.
