➔ Bedroom: King bed with mountain views and an ensuite bath with a soaking tub and glass shower.
➔ Living room: Gas fireplace and smart TV, plus a pull-out sofa that sleeps two more.
➔ Kitchen: Full kitchen with bar seating, stocked with cookware, dishes, and a dishwasher.
➔ Baths: Two full bathrooms for four guests.
➔ Balcony: Direct views of Crested Butte Mountain.
➔ Building: Heated indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub, gym, and sauna — all open 365 days. In-unit washer/dryer. EV charger in the garage.
3 Pros:
- About a 3-minute walk to the Silver Queen lift — true ski-base.
- Heated pool, hot tub, and gym in the building, open year-round, plus the only air conditioning in Mt. Crested Butte.
- Full kitchen and in-unit laundry for a group of four.
2 Cons:
- The pool, hot tub, and gym are run by the building's on-site operator, not Traverse, so we can't control their maintenance timing (they're well cared for).
Parking is a building/HOA charge, not a Traverse fee — $30/night for the heated underground garage, paid on-site to the front desk, and only if you park.
Guest Access:
The Lodge at Mountaineer Square has a staffed front desk that hands you the keys and points you to everything in the building — no lockbox fumbling after a long drive. You'll have full access to the condo plus the building's pool, hot tub, gym, and sauna. We're reachable any time during your stay for requests or questions about Crested Butte.
The Neighborhood:
The condo is at the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Mt. Crested Butte, with the Silver Queen and Red Lady lifts, ski school, rentals, restaurants, and bars all a short walk away. Historic downtown Crested Butte sits about 6 minutes away, where Elk Avenue is lined with restaurants, shops, and galleries. A free town shuttle connects the village to downtown. In summer, some of Colorado's best hiking and mountain biking trailheads are minutes from the building, and the wildflowers that give Crested Butte its nickname peak in July.
Getting Around:
» ~3-min walk to the Silver Queen lift & resort base
» 6-min drive to downtown Crested Butte (or take the free town shuttle)
» Minutes to summer hiking & biking trailheads
» 40-min drive to Gunnison–Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC)
A free shuttle runs between the village and downtown, so the car can stay in the garage. EV charging is available in the building's garage.
Other Things to Note:
License # 304736
Base-area ski storage is available for guests so your gear doesn't come upstairs.
Parking: the building/HOA charges $30/night for the heated underground garage, paid on-site to the front desk. It's not a Traverse fee and applies only if you park.
The pool, hot tub, and gym are operated by the building's on-site team, so maintenance timing isn't ours to control (they're kept in good shape).
For emergency/local-representative contact info, see the Town of Mt. Crested Butte website Short-Term Rental page.
Interaction with Guests:
You'll check in with the building's friendly front-desk staff, and the Traverse team is on call throughout your stay. We respond quickly and offer a virtual concierge with local Crested Butte knowledge — restaurant picks, trail and lift questions, or anything else to make the trip easier.
