Hotel Catalina Suites

The staff were super helpful and were the highlight of the stay, they let us leave our bags at the hotel as we stayed here night 1, In Castellon night 2 and back here night 3, so that was amazing. Also I had not booked breakfast for the last night but this was not a problem and I was accommodated. The room was very quirky as was the rest of the hotel and the bad and pillows were so comfortable, I slept really well. We could have tea and coffee whenever we wanted and there was a water machine to fill a bottle.

The only downside for me was that the staircase needed a good clean, once that is dusted/hoovered the hotel would be excellent!

Location is good, although beware if traveling by car, the cost of parking nearby is quite high.

Unprofessional, very bad management and incompetent staff led to a very bad experience. Prices is high but service is awful, so my suggestion is to avoid here and book somewhere competent at the same price. Basically, after confirming our booking the staff was very weak and easily gave our booked room with balcony to someone else that arrived shortly before us, despite our having reserved and paid for it. At arrival, they pretended like nothing was wrong and stuck us in the budget room that has no windows, and has holes in the wall to the room nearby (see photos), and they hoped we wouldn't say anything. When we complained, they offered no viable solution and NO REFUND WAS GIVEN FOR THEIR MISTAKE, which amazes me. The desk staff wouldn't own up to the mistake and tried to hide what happened, gaslighting us with conflicting statements through a fake smile. Despite the evidence on their own print-out, they delayed dealing with it they never offered any reasonable resolution. Throughout this, management was absent and unwilling to assist, so finally I resorted to getting booking.com involved. Despite this, Catalina Suites dragged this on for several weeks after our stay and never accepted to refund. In the end booking gave us a "travel credit" because Catalina Suites would not cooperate kept declining to refund for their mistake. Honestly, this ruined our stay so if you've read this far take my suggestion to AVOID this place - I don't think ours was an isolated instace. The budget room is very bad. There are large open holes near the roof that go directly into the room next door, so when someone talks or coughs it sounds like they are in the same room as you. I checked the Google reviews and noticed there are many similar complaints for this place, so please check there too for the unfiltered accounts of many people since it seems the booking.com reviews have somehow been baked by a recent reset.

Excellent location and good breakfast. There is an elevator.

No windows on the room. The room had two level: bathroom was down and the bed was upstairs. No heating. TV did not work. Breakfast every day was the same w/o vegetable and fruits

Pulizia stanza, pochi comfort

Posizione centralissima in un palazzo storico e affascinante, perfetta per raggiungere tutte le attrazioni della città a piedi. Staff gentilissimo e pronto a rispondere ad ogni richiesta ed esigenza. Come da me richiesto, mi hanno anche fatto trovare una sorpresa in camera per il compleanno del mio compagno.

Da migliorare l’insonorizzazione delle camere e da effettuare qualche ritocco di manutenzione

Mooie plek, rustig in drukke centrum. Mooie kamer, gebouw en bed. Alleen de douche mag wat stabieler warm blijven.

Lo que más nos gusto a mi mujer y a mi fue la combinación de lugar encantador, con un personal muy atento y amable, buenos detalles de servicio como café disponible euna coqueto saloncito y todo en una ubicación inmejorable en el mismo centro de Valencia, realmente para repetir si volvemos a la ciudad.

Se ajusta perfectamente a las espectativas de la información previa. No tenemos nada que reprochar.
