The Space:

A light-filled 5-bedroom lake home on the western shore of Lake Rotorua in Ngongotahā, set back on a park-like lawn that runs down to the water and looks northeast to Mokoia Island. Soft Zen tones, a subtle lemongrass scent and big windows framing the lake make it a calm, easy base for families and multi-generation groups - room to spread out, with everyone connected through the open-plan living.

Sleeps 10 in total. Hotel-quality mattresses, dual duvets, two pillow types, plus electric blankets and oil heaters for winter comfort. All bedding and linen supplied.

Two bathrooms including an indoor bathtub, plus two separate toilets with smart-toilet technology. Hair dryers provided, and a lakefront outdoor shower for rinsing off after a paddle or a swim. Towels supplied.



- LIVING AREA -

Open-plan kitchen, dining and living designed so everyone stays together. The lounge is warm and inviting with a wood fireplace, heat pump and a 65" smart TV paired with a high-fidelity sound system - the spot for movie nights or a quiet evening in. An O2VENT home ventilation system keeps the air fresh and the living environment comfortable all year round. Large windows frame the lake, and soft Zen tones with a subtle lemongrass aroma set a calm mood from the moment you arrive. The fully equipped kitchen has a Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, rice cooker and full cookware and cutlery - chopsticks included.



- OUTDOOR AREA -

The private spa pool - 34 jets and five hydro-massage seats - sits out on the deck for a soak at sunset. The park-like lawn stretches down to a private walkway at the water's edge, with sunrise over Mokoia Island straight off the grass. There's a gas BBQ for long summer evenings and a lakefront outdoor shower.



- LAUNDRY -

Washing machine and dryer on site - handy for longer stays and families.



- PARKING -

Ample on-site and off-street parking for guests.



Guest Access:

Guests have exclusive use of the entire Residence - the open-plan living area, all five bedrooms, spa pool, deck, lawn, BBQ, outdoor shower and the private walkway to the lake. Self-check-in on arrival. A second home, Stillwater Cottage, sits at the front of the property right on the waterfront (also managed by us) and is available to book alongside the Residence - together the two homes sleep up to 16, ideal for larger groups and celebrations. Make yourself at home. 🏡



The Neighborhood:

Ngongotahā is a relaxed lakeside village on the western shore of Lake Rotorua, just north of the city and a world away from the bustle. Stillwater Residence looks northeast over the water to Mokoia Island, with a park-like lawn running down to a private walkway at the water's edge. Skyline Rotorua's gondola and luge, Rotorua Canopy Tours and the Zorb are all within about seven minutes, while central Rotorua, Eat Streat and the lakefront boardwalk, Polynesian Spa and Wai Ariki Hot Springs are a short drive around the lake. Te Puia's geysers and the Redwoods Whakarewarewa Forest are an easy run the other way. It's an easygoing, lakefront base for a Rotorua holiday.



Getting Around:

A car is recommended for exploring wider Rotorua, and there's ample on-site and off-street parking. Zorb, Skyline and Canopy Tours are around 5 to 7 minutes away, central Rotorua about 12, Te Puia 15, the Redwoods roughly 20, and Rotorua Airport about 23 minutes around the eastern side of the lake. A bus stop just down the road offers a public transport option too.
