The thatched-roof Ruge House in Lietzow on Rügen was built with great attention to detail. With 160 square meters of living space, it combines spacious comfort with a unique location between the Kleiner and Großer Jasmunder Bodden. For the new construction, the over 300-year-old clinker bricks from the previous house were reused—thus preserving a piece of history and giving the house its distinctive character. The classic lattice windows with storm hooks, which traditionally open outward, also reflect Rügen’s historic architectural style. The approximately 500-square-meter property offers guests peace, seclusion, and immediate proximity to nature.
The small vacation village of Lietzow is nestled between the sparkling waters of the Bodden, the open Baltic Sea, and the expansive beech forests of the Granitz. It captivates visitors with its idyllic atmosphere while also offering numerous opportunities to actively explore the island. Families appreciate the fine-sand natural beach, whose shallow, sun-warmed waters are ideal for children. Active travelers can take advantage of the sailing and surfing school to conquer the water or get to know the tranquil side of the Bodden while fishing.
