Friendly and helpful staff

Hospitality is very good. Staffs helpful and kind. Surrounded by nature. Plenty of animals to watch and activities we can do. Perfect for family specially kids, they loved it.

The farm animals were friendly. The shared kitchen and lounge space was nice. The room was bigger than I expected, as we had two rooms instead of one (one with a queen and one with a single bed)

When we arrived, we were told the person who would normally check us in was away sick and had taken our paperwork home. The person who did check us in was a nice lady but I felt she had limited information on the accommodation (e.g. unsure of sheep shearing times.) The accommodation was tidy and clean but dated. It needed a lot of maintenance. The kitchen was missing dishwashing liquid. We called the mobile number provided on the wall to request some and the person who answered told us they don't work there anymore! Awkward! The bathroom fan worked intermittently and sounded like it would blast off into space. The toilet paper roll would not stay on the holder as it was slanted, so the roll kept falling. The spa bath was clean but after draining the water we found the next morning it was absolutely covered in bugs. I'm talking at least half the surface of the tub! Hundreds. It was as though the bugs were hiding within the jets and came out. I should've taken a photo, it was that bad. The outside screen door was just a frame with no screen on it. The bed was extremely firm and uncomfortable. On our second day, we were approached by a staff member when we parked our car asking if we had a booking to be here. It made us feel unwelcome. At no stage had we had a proper introduction to the place or activities onsite. We finally found out about the sheep shearing and went to attend on our last day, only for the shearer and a bus load of tourists to be running late and we couldn't stay. Overall it wasn't a great stay. We won't be returning. There wasn't much information about the accomodation online (what we could find appeared to be from the previous owners). It was a good location in terms of going to Thirlmere and Picton. The sheep, alpacas, goats etc looked well cared for. To be honest I found the animals more welcoming and friendly than the staff.
