I would like to commend the excellent cleanliness of the room and the outstanding hospitality of the staff, especially Raju. He went above and beyond his responsibilities to assist us.

Great location and staff, but a minor cleanliness issue. Location-wise, it’s perfect: a 3-minute walk to the Gangtok Ropeway and 5–10 minutes to MG Road. The staff was very courteous and helpful. My only complaint is that we spotted a few insects coming out of the bathroom in one of our rooms.

The rooms were clean with reliable hot water and well maintained baathrooms adding to the comfort. The staff were helpful, and the location was convenient. Only thing off was the balcony, a building stands right in front of the balcony blocking the view, only 1/3rd part of the balcony is unblocked.

I have always preferred and trusted Agoda for booking hotels during my trips, and I am also a Platinum customer. But this time, I honestly felt that blindly trusting Agoda almost ruined my entire trip. First of all, I booked a Deluxe Room with Balcony, including breakfast, through Agoda. After making the payment, I even called the hotel directly and confirmed my booking with them. However, after reaching the hotel and checking in, the room I was given had absolutely no resemblance to the room I had booked. There was practically nothing in common between the actual room and the room shown in the pictures uploaded on Agoda. As a customer, I choose and book a room based largely on the room category, facilities, and photographs displayed at the time of booking. Naturally, I expected to receive what I had actually paid for. But despite repeatedly requesting the hotel staff to address the issue, they simply refused to listen to me or provide a satisfactory solution. Eventually, I was more or less forced to pay an additional ₹2,000 just to upgrade the room. Unfortunately, even the upgraded room was far from satisfactory. The bathroom had a serious water-blocking/drainage issue, the sliding wardrobe was not functioning properly, and there were several other problems that made the stay unnecessarily frustrating. At that point, I realised that I was already stuck with a booking made through Agoda, and instead of allowing these issues to completely destroy my trip, I decided to ignore the problems and focus on enjoying whatever was left of my vacation. But that does not mean I am going to accept this kind of wastage of money as a customer. I trusted Agoda, I paid for a specific room category, and I expected to receive exactly what was advertised. What happened this time was simply not acceptable. After this experience, I will honestly think a hundred times before making another hotel booking through Agoda. And to everyone reading this review, my sincere advice is: unless you have no other option, think twice before choosing this hotel.
