Gür Star Hotel

Basic but comfortable small hotel close to the major sights. In a down-to -earth local area but short walk from Blue Mosque. This is a no-frills hotel (which we like, we don't need luxury for a short stay). Comfortable bed, table and two chairs, towels, soap/shampoo/shower gel, plus a kettle and fridge, but bring your own tea/coffee and milk if you need it. Only small quantity of water provided - we boiled a kettle and filled up our own bottles and put them in the fridge. Very friendly, extremely helpful reception, not everyone speaks a lot of English, but with translation on the phone we communicated just fine. Reception open 24 hours.

Not really a down-side, but I had asked for directions from the airport and was emailed the two metro lines we needed to get down to the hotel, plus told it was a 15-20 minute from the metro station. I do not recommend taking the metro, it took well over two and a half hours in total. The distance between the two lines where you have to change is huge and we walked for about half an hour to get to the second metro line. Once outside, we struggled to find any street names, but with the unceasing help of t he lovely locals (and we used lots of them), we did eventually find the road the hotel is in. Then, after dragging our cases up a very long, steep road, we came unstuck and could not find the hotel at the number indicated. We eventually found someone who knew where the hotel was and he kindly took us to it further down the street. It is not called the Gur Star, it is the Royal Gur. we were utterly hot and exhausted as the hotel is a good hour's walk from the metro station. Needless to say, cheap though the metro option was, we booked a taxi for our return to the airport... Takes around 45 minutes and there is a taxi/shuttle bus office at the end of the road. Lots of great, very inexpensive places to get breakfast/lunch/dinner right by the hotel. A good place to stay.

En üst katta 3 yatak odalı daire, aile birlikte kalabilir. Personel harikaydı, her gün düzenli olarak temizlik yapılıyordu. Ulaşıma yakın iyi konum. Dinlenmek için güzel balkon ve sessiz alan. Tüm pişirme gereçlerinin sağlandığı iyi bir mutfak.
