From start to finish, Masa provided a 10/10 experience for us. It was a real highlight of our honeymoon. It was so special to hear Masa (the host) talk so passionately about Sion House which he spent 2 years building. The cedar wood bath was a real highlight - Masa came in both evenings whilst we were out for dinner to prepare it for us. He also cooked us breakfast both mornings and gave us some amazing restaurant recommendations. Not to mention the incredible tea ceremony after check-in. A must stay if you are visiting Miyajima!

Staying at Sion and Miyajima itself was the highlight of my Japan trip. Hidden away from the busy streets but still close to everywhere I wanted to go on Miyajima, Sion villa is a work of art. You can feel the passion from Masa (the owner) as you are shown around the villa. The highlight is the semi-open air private bath, handmade out of wood. This was the perfect thing to come back to after a long day exploring the island. Masa also recommended a lovely place for dinner which was delightful.
