Lots of space for a family. There are 3 bedrooms with double beds and three bathrooms. A nice living room and eating area. Despite the unit ready for at least 6, the dining table only seats 4.
The laundry machine is large and easy to use. The kitchen is small but has a full sized fridge and plenty of storage. There are a few pantry amenities that appears of people leaving items behind.
Location in the suburbs of the Cherry Creek area is perfect for visiting friends.
The listing implied this is a standalone unit. It is not. It is the basement of a house that you must access through a garage. Thus you need both the garage code and keep track of a physical key. It is accessible to whoever is living upstairs.
The unit was also very warm, even during a Colorado snowstorm, and there was no way to turn the heat down. We anticipated cold, and brought pajamas accordingly. We were wrong and roasted. We sweated sitting down.
The unit smelled strongly of curry. I love curry. I just don't want to smell it 24/7.
The beds are awful. Not only can you feel the springs push into your back, the mattress sinks so that if there are 2 people in the bed, you sink toward the middle. My kids did not notice as they are little and light. My husband and I, who are not overweight, did not sleep. They should invest in better mattresses. They're not super expensive at Costco. These mattresses felt worse than dorm mattresses that haven't been changed in 50 years.
And because it is the basement unit of a home, you can hear EVERYTHING upstairs. They would get up in the night, and I'd hear the bed creek, their steps on the floor, their toilet flushing, etc. So we assumed the same vice versa. This makes working, if you need to, problematic if you have to discuss anything confidential over the phone/videoconference.
