For such a small apartment it was incredible how many things had been included and how efficiently space had been used. Examples of going the extra mile include a water filter jug, tea, coffee and sugar, salt and pepper, all cleaning and shower products, clothes hanging rail, spare bin liners, cutlery tray, air fryer, microwave/grill como, washing machine (probably the right choice in lieu of a dishwasher), excellent secured internet connection, large TV with free streaming and much more. There is free parking in front of the flat, which is only a few minutes' walk from Burnham rail station (Elizabeth Line changing at Slough to Paddington). It's definitely only suitable for single occupancy, albeit with a double bed, but for one person staying for a few days it's spot on.

The details on Booking.com did not specify the house number. Google street view indicated it was no. 24, which led to some confusion when I arrived, as nothing seemed to tally with the instructions I'd received. It's actually no. 8. After that, all was well. Some simple maintenance work is needed - the towel rail is coming off the wall in the toilet; the toilet seat mountings are loose; the lower toilet seat won't stay up when raised; the kitchen sink tap is loose. Other issues include the fridge not having been emptied of food and needing cleaning; a welcome letter that indicated bottled water had been provided, though there was none. Given its size, there are some inevitable compromises. The wash basin is miniscule (I used the kitchen sink instead), the shower is a tight squeeze and the toilet cubicle almost too small to be able to turn around. But all of this must be offset against the very fair price for what's on offer.
