Unfortunately, I spent a lot of time learning how to pay the host. When I reserved the apartment, I thought when I entered my credit card the reservation was paid for. When I arrived the host told me to put the payment in his mail box. Since I thought I had already paid, I spent 3 hours researching if I paid or not and I was worried I would be charged a 2nd time if I paid in cash as I did. I learned how to ask questions to booking.com's customer service and they answered me quickly. However, I was not happy learning the cutural nuances of paying for this apartment. The host should have clearly explained submitting my credit card with Booking.com had nothing to do with payment. It was a big waste of my time and energy and gave me emotion stress, all the while my 3 children are asking me when we were going to leave the apartment. I am not happy.
