KOKOPELLI HOUSE IZUKOGEN -Private Hot Spring-

I could not have been happier with my stay here. I was immediately met with kindness from the proprietors, and they were extremely helpful with my luggage, suggestions for the area, and making me feel welcome. After a long day of hiking the beautiful coastline, being able to relax on the balcony onsen was one of the most relaxing parts of my whole trip, and the views from the balconies over both the Pacific coastline and the Omuro volcano make this an all around winner. They have snacks and drinks available for purchase in the lobby area, and the rooms are all themed after Western US themes and are full of charm while the interior is a level of cleanliness and comfort that one can normally expect in Japan. I will happily be returning here when I come back to the Izu Peninsula. Coffee and tea are available in the lobby and there are also restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance.

While the house is conveniently located near the Futo train station, it is a somewhat steep climb up from the station. If you don't have a car, as I did not, some of the distances between the towns and even within the towns involve substantial walking.

We booked this hotel just right before we heading for our vacation. This is the best deal we can get at that moment. It turns out a big surprise for us. This is a beautiful house with private hot spring in suite. Owner Akira and his wife are very friendly and helpful. Room is very clean. Location is good. This house is few minutes away from Futo station. A bit uphill towards the house so prepare to have a bit exercise after you get off the train. Akira gave us some good suggestion about where we can visit and helped us called taxi. We were really enjoyed staying there. We wanted to stay for one more night but unfortunately it was fully booked next day. Hope we can came back again.
