Spanish City, a restored dome-shaped entertainment and dining hub, is a local landmark and a must-visit. The coastal path connects you to neighbouring Tynemouth and Cullercoats for scenic walks, seafood restaurants, and historic sites.
Whitley Bay also benefits from reliable Metro links into Newcastle, making it an excellent base for exploring both beach life and the city. From here you can visit South Shields, the Northumberland coastline, or take in city attractions within 20–30 minutes.
