The cottage is full of character and is decorated appropriately to its age. It is very comfortable, the beds are beautifully made and we slept really well, even though it was the hottest week of the year! The bathroom is spotless and well stocked. All you need to take is shower gel and toothbrush/toothpaste. There are plenty of towels. Cromford is a pretty village and we were made very welcome at The Boat, the food here is excellent.

The only real criticism I have is that we were not made aware of the very steep stairs which go up in 2 sections. Having broken my ankle very seriously a couple of years ago and still having issues this was a major concern, the stairs are also quite narrow but deep. I would say they are unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues and may be difficult/ dangerous for anyone elderly or with young children. The cottage is advertised as dog friendly, we ended up not taking ours due to the heat, I was glad we hadn't brought him as there is no ground level garden and a busy road at the front door. The garden does need some maintenance, the handrail to the steps going up is not secured well, we did not use the patio area as we did not feel safe to use the steps. VISITORS MUST BE MADE AWARE OF THESE ISSUES ON BOOKING THE COTTAGE.

It was a lovely, cozy cottage with thoughtful touches throughout that made me feel right at home.

Lovely property. Comfortable and clean.

We didn’t use the garden as the steep steps felt dangerous with a young family and elderly dog. We are going to prioritise parking when looking at properties in the future as we did not like parking on such a busy main road.
