La Choza combines charm and magic. It stands out for its natural light and artistic decor. It features a spacious bedroom with a wardrobe, closet, and desk; a full bathroom with two entrances; and a separate laundry room. The open kitchen is integrated with the living room—which can be adapted as a second bedroom—and features a private terrace with benches, a dining area, hammocks, a fire pit, and views of the forest. It includes access to La Terraza Acapulco (shared), featuring a natural pond, a palapa with a kitchen, dining area, living room, and a solarium with a hot tub.
In the kitchen–dining–living area of La Choza, there is a futon that can be divided into a double mattress and a single mattress, allowing for up to three additional guests. With this option, the total capacity of La Choza is seven guests. This upgrade entails an additional cost, which will be quoted at the time of booking.
La Choza is a fully equipped home that combines privacy with interaction with nature, located in the wooded surroundings of Acatitlán, Valle de Bravo. Surrounded by a majestic landscape, it features well-defined boundaries marked by flower beds, patios, and private spaces that ensure the property’s privacy. Additionally, it is part of a private complex that includes other accommodations sharing common areas, trails, gardens, and access to La Terraza Acapulco, featuring a fully equipped palapa, a solarium, a jacuzzi, a natural lagoon serving as a swimming pool, and a fire pit area.
Guests have full access to all facilities, furnishings, and amenities within La Choza, allowing them to enjoy the independence and comfort of feeling right at home. Everything is designed to facilitate a relaxed, pleasant, and authentic experience.
To encourage this sense of relaxation, there is no television. The property offers mobile internet coverage and Wi-Fi at a central hub, but without repeaters, inviting travelers to disconnect from the stresses of technology and city life.
Additional services such as firewood, a hot tub, extra cleaning, or meal preparation are available at an additional cost. These must be requested and arranged in advance so that everything is ready upon your arrival.
If there are other guests, schedules for the use of common areas will be coordinated to ensure respectful and harmonious coexistence. Our goal is to provide a comfortable and hassle-free stay.
The property is a unique architectural masterpiece designed by Guillermo de la Cajiga and is 100% sustainable. Its design integrates sustainability, aesthetics, and functionality, in harmony with the mountains of Acatitlán. Each space connects visitors with their surroundings, using traditional materials and techniques reflected in the floors, walls, ceilings, frames, doors, and windows crafted by artisans. The interior is adorned with art pieces selected to enrich the cultural experience of the place.
Sustainability is reinforced through El Centro de Energías, a 100% autonomous system that provides essential services. It collects rainwater and processes it through a biological treatment plant, regenerating and purifying wastewater. It generates 100% of its electricity from solar power and is equipped with a backup generator and a voltage regulator, ensuring self-sufficiency and respect for the environment.
La Choza is not just a place to stay, but a timeless habitat that invites respect for and appreciation of art, architecture, and natural beauty. Guests are asked to take care of every corner of the property—including the artwork, proper waste management, and responsible energy use—as outlined in the house manual, to preserve its beauty and authenticity.
NOTICES:
1. Smoking:
Permitted only outdoors, in designated areas. These areas are equipped with ashtrays for proper and responsible use.
2. Gatherings and celebrations:
Permitted only for registered guests, respecting scheduled times and the forest environment. The space invites you to enjoy it mindfully, appreciating the art, ambiance, and serenity. Any damage (stains, breakage, dents) will be assessed and charged at its market value.
3. Bathroom Waste:
Do not flush toilet paper, sanitary napkins, or any other waste down the toilet, as we have a biological treatment system. Please use the designated trash cans.
4. Kitchen Waste:
The kitchen has bins for sorting waste. Organic waste goes into the compost; inorganic waste goes into the appropriate bin.
5. Tanning lotions and sunscreens:
Do not enter the natural lagoon, hot tub, or showers while wearing chemical sunscreens or tanning lotions. Only eco-friendly and biodegradable products are allowed.
6. Use of the hot tub:
There is an additional fee, which will be disclosed during the reservation process, and the specific duration will be communicated in advance.
7. Use of campfires and firewood:
Permitted with prior notice to the manager on duty. Firewood is subject to an additional charge, and the manager will be responsible for supplying it and lighting the fire.
8. Use of the outdoor stove:
Available at no cost. The guest is responsible for providing charcoal, which will be arranged during the reservation.
9. Conscious use of energy:
The property is 100% solar-powered. Responsible use is requested. To protect the environment, lights in common areas will be turned off during nighttime hours, which will be communicated during your stay.
10. Common Areas:
Access to La Terraza Acapulco, the gardens, and common areas is shared with other guests when there are multiple reservations. This includes the natural pond, palapa, dining room, living room, sun deck, and hot tub. Specific schedules may be established. We expect guests to interact cordially and to maintain order and cleanliness.
11. Pets:
Only small dogs (max. 10 kg) are allowed. You must disclose their presence when making the reservation.
Responsibilities:
• Supervision: Dogs must be supervised at all times and are not allowed on furniture or beds.
• Supplies: bed, food bowl, water bowl, and waste bags.
• Cleanliness: Keep the property free of pet hair and pick up solid waste.
• Damage: Any damage (bites, scratches, stains, or destruction) will be the guest’s responsibility and must be covered immediately.
Considerations:
• Restricted Areas: Pets are not allowed in other properties or spaces outside the reserved accommodation.
• Common Areas: Pets may only be present under supervision and must not cause a disturbance.
• Noise: Excessive barking or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
12. Property Handover and Inspection:
To ensure a transparent experience, a handover and inspection will be conducted upon check-in and check-out.
Upon arrival, the manager will hand over the space and conduct a general inspection of the furniture, artwork, rooms, and common areas.
During your stay, staff will provide support and general supervision without interfering with guests’ privacy.
At the end of your stay, a joint inspection will be conducted. If any damage is detected, a report will be filed with photographic evidence.
The security deposit will be refunded if there is no damage. Otherwise, the corresponding amount will be deducted. If the damage exceeds the security deposit, an estimate will be provided, which the guest must pay within seven days.
