    We recently stayed at Colonial Crest, and while there were definitely some wonderful aspects, there were also a few issues we want to highlight for future guests. The property is truly beautiful and the staff was genuinely friendly, which we really appreciated. However, we did run into some confusion regarding room capacity when booking through Agoda, as well as inconsistency in meal pricing. It was disappointing to find that the advertised room details (4 adults) weren’t quite accurate for the actual room capacity and it can accommodate only 3 people and we had to pay extra to upgrade to a another room, and the meal pricing we were quoted felt misleading. For example, when we inquired about a simple dinner option like Kottu, we were first told the price would be LKR 3,000 per portion. Later, the property manager mentioned that the usual rate is around USD 5 (approximately LKR 1,500–1,600). But then came back again saying he checked with the owner and the original LKR 3000 would be the price. This discrepancy left us feeling as though the pricing was not transparent and gave the impression of being unfairly inflated. Clearer communication on both room capacity and meal pricing would definitely do justice to such a lovely place.
