If you want to stay within walking distance of some of Belém’s best sights, experience the warmth and generosity of local people, and truly immerse yourself in the city’s history and everyday life, this is an exceptional place to stay. The neighborhood has everything within walking distance—great food, local shops, everyday services and groceries. It feels lively and full of life during the day, yet pleasantly quiet at night. Most importantly, it gave us something that has become increasingly rare in modern cities: a genuine sense of community. People still talk to each other, help each other and make you feel welcome. This is not an overpriced tourist bubble created for visitors; it feels relaxed, authentic and lived-in. To us, that is exactly what travel should be about. The apartment itself is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, with artistic tiles and many charming details. The beds are very comfortable, and the air conditioning cools the rooms quickly. Our host also thoughtfully provided plenty of drinking water and charging cables for different types of phones. Although we chose to eat out and enjoy Belém’s many restaurants, the apartment has a very complete kitchen and dining setup as well. What made our stay even more special was the host. One evening I accidentally lost our key without realizing it. By the time we got back and discovered it was missing, it was already quite late at night. As soon as she heard what had happened, she immediately took a taxi and brought us a spare key herself, even though she lives some distance away. We were genuinely touched by how kind and helpful she was. We later found the original key at the massage place we had visited, so fortunately there was no security concern about a lost key being somewhere unknown. That kind of hospitality is something we will remember long after the trip itself. We also felt very comfortable walking in the area.

Do banheiro pq é muito pequeno e a pressão do chuveiro era muito fraco e deixou muito a desejar.

Chegamos e saímos de madrugada (pagando as devidas diárias que incluíam as noites de chegada/saída, claro) e isso não foi um problema para o nosso anfitrião, que deixou tudo pronto para nossa chegada. O prédio possui porteiro 24h, que ficaram com as chaves para nos repassar na chegada. Camas confortáveis, roupa de cama e banho limpinhas, ar condicionado potente, louça e apetrechos de cozinha disponíveis e um pouquinho de vista para o rio. Apesar de localizado na zona central de Belém, não sentimos sensação alguma de insegurança (como é possível sentir em algumas outras zonas centrais de grandes cidades). 5 minutos a pé das Docas e do Ver o Peso, e, pro outro lado, também a 5 minutos do Theatro da Paz. Tem mercado na avenida ao lado, também com fácil acesso. Anfitrião super solícito, online, e Dona Maria, via whatsapp também.

A única coisa que deixa um pouco a desejar é o banheiro, que é bem pequenininho (no nosso caso, éramos 4 pessoas grandes hospedadas, então exigia uma certa ginástica haha). Mas ainda que pequeno, o espaço dele é super bem aproveitado. O chuveiro é elétrico e de vez em quando desarma o disjuntor, mas é só levantar a chavinha.
