The apartment building is fairly new, friendly staff. It’s located in Umhlanga which is an excellent location.

We arrived and the apartment had not been cleaned, the beds were not made, the bin was overflowing and there was a sink full of dirty dishes (appears that the cleaner didn’t arrive despite us not having been able to check in earlier as requested due to the place needing to be cleaned). They sent a lady to clean within 20/30 minutes of our complaint. There was no electricity for an hour or so on our first night because the owner had not purchased any electricity. This was resolved within an hour or so of us reporting it. The building is advertised as having a pool but the pool had no water and was under construction. This was a big let down as we had specifically chosen the place because it had a pool, as it was not walking distance to the beach. Speaking of construction, the apartment is on the first floor and there are men working on the pool (which is right next to your balcony and bedroom). So we could not even open our curtains and enjoy the view because it then felt like there were men looking right into our unit. So we sat with curtains closed the entire stay. The air conditioning was not working and there were no blankets, however, these were provided after request, the cleaning lady told us the blanket had been sitting in a cupboard and could be dusty but because of how cold the elderly person with us was we accepted it. They could pay attention to small things in the apartment, such as having shower mats as water always overflows onto the floor in the main bedroom bathroom. So it’s very slippery. No one wants to dry a mop by hand continuously to wipe up the overflowing water. Also, a throw would be a nice touch to use up on the couch. All things said, the agent/host was always very responsive, and she tried her best to attend to things as soon as our concerns were raised. It’s just unfortunate that we had all these issues.
