Come home holiday bungalow & villa

We were extremely happy staying at Come Home Holiday Bungalow and Villa. So comfortable with the beautiful property with an abundance of squirrels and flowering trees and the feeling of being at home in the spacious house that we stayed an extra night. Isuru, our host was very helpful, welcoming and made our stay perfect. Breakfast was delicious. The rooms are clean, comfortable and roomy. The bungalow is situated near the beach in a quiet location. The property owner graciously offered us a ride to the bus stop as I had injured my foot. We highly recommend this home stay and would love to stay again 💕🌹

The host is genuinely a friendly person. He arrived quickly via tuk-tuk once we called him, because he did not expect us coming - did not notice booking confirmation which was unrefundable. We would have loved to cancel but we couldn’t. The location is convenient for those going on a crocodile safari. The AC is working great but it was not cleaned and n years if ever.

Disappointing experience despite the high ratings Hygiene issues: We encountered three large cockroaches in the kitchen (on and behind the fridge) and a significant ant infestation in the bathroom and living area. Accuracy of description: We booked a room with a bathroom, but it turned out to be outside. We had to use the indoor shared one instead. State of the property: The house is in a very run-down condition. The toilet seat was falling off, and the taps were loose/unstable. Cleanliness: Although the host’s wife started cleaning immediately upon our arrival, the bed linen had visible stains. Because of the kitchen's condition, we decided to skip the included breakfast. Value for money: We felt the price was too high for the quality provided. For the same price, you can find much better accommodation and nicer beaches nearby (e.g., Madiha Beach). Common areas are super hot! Feels like sauna. And it was may 2. We chose this place because of the perfect 10/10 reviews and our preference for supporting local families over hotels. Unfortunately, our experience did not match the ratings at all. It might be better during the peak season, but during our stay, the lack of maintenance and the pest issues were deal-breakers. While we appreciate the host's kindness, we cannot recommend this stay at its current price point and condition.
