Madu - Guesthouse mirissa & Local Restaurant

Where can I start, everything here is amazing! Mohan and his cute family because like my own family, and I only stayed for 2 nights (sadly). The room is soo big and basically a whole apartment complex. Has aircon, fan, equipped kitchen, even a fruit mixer! The bathroom is massive. Hot water works. Wifi in the room is not that great but on the rooftop it’s excellent. Mohan makes all your wishes come true. He really treats all his guests like family and takes so so so well care of you. I was sick and he made sure I always had tea to drink. His wife Madu is an amazing cook. You will eat here the most amazing Sri Lankan diner and breakfast. Also the whole place is beautifully maintained, so many flowers! And I even saw monkeys once jumping around 😍 and it’s in a really quite, local area, away from this mass tourism. Absolutely a hidden gem 🫶 Also only a few minutes walk aways from a small beautiful beach, where you can chill, swim and even snorkel and see turtles. I really don’t know what to say, I fell in love with this place and with Mohans family and I will definitely come back! Thanks so much for everything Mohan!

Комфортный домик, отличный интернет, спокойный район. А самое главное — это гостеприимство хозяина Мохана и его семьи. Искренняя забота и душевное тепло. Приятно было чувствовать себя желанным другом: Мохан всегда с радостью подскажет, поможет с любыми вопросами и создаст по-настоящему домашнюю атмосферу. Огромное спасибо за это чувство! Локации — идеальна для тех, кто ищет баланс между спокойствием и доступностью. Отсюда действительно легко добраться до Мириссы на автобусе или тук-туке. Мы выбрали аренду скутера. С одной стороны, вы всегда в центре событий на побережье, а с другой — вечером возвращаетесь в тихий, умиротворенный уголок, где можно отдохнуть под шелест пальм. Очень рекомендуем и уже планируем вернуться снова в январе!

Clean and helpful

We stayed here for 3 weeks and the place had all the facilities we needed for a comfortable stay. A well equipped kitchen and bathroom, good WiFi and AC - a great value place. Mohan is a top guy and a very attentive host who is always available to help. We also visited Mohan’s home during our stay and it was lovely meeting his family, having a tour round the garden, and enjoying delicious authentic Sri Lankan food. Would recommend hiring a bike if staying here.
