Our host was so helpful in getting these four senior ladies from the Deep South USA settled in our apartment -We were so pleased we requested an additional night!
We needed a handrail on the stairs. Everything else was perfect!

It was a little, cute place that in theory had everything I needed. Looks nice, it is well kept, good equipment, good warm shower. The owner was friendly and helped when it was needed the most.
Somehow the code I had to get the key was not correct. I was lucky that the owner lived next door and I was able to call him - it was 10pm in January and very cold. He also explained that to lock the door from the inside it takes some strength because despite being modern the door didn't quite square with the frame. Indeed it was hard and I was worried I wouldn't be able to close the door for the night. I managed, but I wondered if people with less strength than me would have been able to close it. Inside the small apartment had a temperature of 14 degrees Celsius. It eventually warmed up but it took a few hours - would have been nice if the host thought of warming it up in advance. Finally, my bed wasn't made and there was no undersheet to cover the mattress. I ended up using the duvet and pillow that were left visible for me and a clean and dry towel under me - not quite ideal but ultimately I slept ok.
All this sounds pretty negative, and it is, but I hope most of it was an unlucky set of coincidences.
