    Soyo-ne Kyoto Sanjo sits at the pricier end, but it delivered enough to make it worthwhile. The space itself is large and well put together — wood finishes throughout that give it a genuine Kyoto feel without feeling overdone. Everything was clean and well equipped, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant from the moment we arrived. Location is a practical plus: very close to Nishiki Market, which made getting around easy. Small touches added up nicely. Free tea and coffee were available throughout the stay, and we were given a welcome snack on arrival. The TV allowed us to sign into our streaming accounts and automatically signed us out the next day — a simple but thoughtful feature. The rooms also had blackout blinds sitting behind the Japanese-style sliding windows, which managed to be both functional and in keeping with the aesthetic. Breakfast was included and was genuinely good — a sandwich with a drink, soup, fruit, and yoghurt. On the second day we skipped it in favour of eating out locally, which says more about wanting to explore than any dissatisfaction with the food. Staff at both check-in and the café were friendly. One minor oddity: the check-in process involved calling a call centre via an iPad, even with a staff member standing right there. It felt unnecessarily roundabout and slightly impersonal, though it did not affect the stay in any meaningful way. Overall, a very pleasant experience. The price is on the high side, but the property earns most of it. No regrets.

    It was a beautiful and calm space to stay in. Yuji at the front desk was especially helpful with all of our needs. It's location is fantastic, and the finished and amenities in the room are world class. Will definitely be coming back again.

    The location is next to the shopping yet just a block away form the businesses, it's secluded and quite. Newely renovated so it's a gem. Loved it - wonderful Japan experience .
