Highly recommend Roxana’s place for your trip to Lijiang. It’s so convenient because it’s located in the in Lijiang Old Town itself. The owners are also very friendly and have very homey vibes. Roxana speaks perfect English so it helps a lot if you don’t speak Chinese. They also have two super lovely dogs so even better if you’re a dog lover!

I do not usually write reviews on places I stayed in, but I feel motivated to do so after our family’s stay at Yiyuan Snow Mountain View. Our 3 nights stay at Lijiang was very memorable and the team at Yiyuan deserves full credits. This isn't any ordinary guesthouse, it's an experience of genuine, heartfelt Lijiang hospitality that we will carry with us long after we have left. We were housed in a beautiful heritage building that preserves the traditional charms of Naxi architecture. Its excellent location within walking distance to the centre of the Old Ancient Town of Lijiang and the local market gives perfect balance between usual tourist attractions and local authenticity. Roxana and her husband and staff made us feel at home. I must also mention that as foreigners, their help with our train bookings back to Kunming were awesome. She helped in our travel plans as well and recommended an excellent private driver, A Hao, who is reliable, knowledgeable and safe. We booked him for our 2-day tour to the Shangri-La region and with him on the wheels, we were in safe hands. Miya, the resident dog is the sweetest, most friendly and adorable companion that added warmth to our stay. A perfect antidote after a long day out walking and sightseeing. Roxana speaks perfect English, and for someone like me, a non-mandarin speaker/banana, any simple tasks can be daunting in Lijiang. We left feeling not like tourists, but like friends, and they certainly do make our stay memorable. We will definitely stay here when we visit Lijiang and can't recommend it highly enough.
