Host Canceled After Check-In – Completely UnprofessionalWe booked this home for Nov 6–9, 2025, for 2 adults and 5 kids traveling from MD to GA for my father-in-law’s funeral. We requested early check-in at 3 PM and were told it was fine. When we arrived, no access code was provided. We called and texted for over 30 minutes with no answer. At 4 PM, the host finally called, gave us the code, and when we entered, the house was full of someone else’s belongings—suitcases, shoes, unmade beds. The host told us to leave and said she’d call back with another property but never did. Minutes later, she canceled the booking claiming a “pipe burst.” We were left stranded with exhausted kids and had to find hotel rooms last minute. Totally unacceptable and unprofessional experience. I hope VRBO reviews this host’s account seriously—no guest should go through this kind of experience, especially not on a family trip for a funeral.Having to rent 2 rooms significantly took us over budget. Dissatisfied and deeply disappointed.

The home is beautiful. The cleaning company had not cleaned the home. I sent the owner a text and she immediately called me. She was so embarrassed it wasn’t cleaned (we arrived at 6:30pm). She did refund some of our money. The beds were listed as kings however they were either queens or full sized (based on sheets on beds). The neighbors not so friendly. Not sure if they realized it was a rental. Overall, if the owner can get the cleaning company to clean the home accurately, it would be a nice place to stay.
