From the minute we arrived we were made extremely welcome. Very friendly. My husband loves planes and we were given the De Haviland room. Nicely themed. The room was top quality. We wanted for nothing. Comfortable bed, great shower.
The breakfast was delicious and the choice and variety of food in the evening really good
Very little. Our room was directly above the bar and there was quite a bit of noise. However, it quietened down in good time for sleep, even on a Saturday night

Location convenient for what we needed.
Liked typical stone building and decor, good pub atmosphere for locals.
The loft room is a good size.
The shower room was a good size and nicely presented. The shower itself was good.
Scrambled eggs were lovely.
The very narrow and curved steep stairs to the loft room. Difficult to climb with suitcase and bags. Not suitable for elderly or disabled. We are retired and struggled.
Our room lacked comfy chairs, drawers and only had small shelf in bathroom, so nowhere to put clothes or personal items.
TV fixed flat on a side wall by the bed, so awkward for viewing.
The room design was David Hockney inspired with a large printed quote on the ceiling and his books there for guests perusal. No idea who or what that is about.
The large slipper bath was set on a wooden floor and its edge is a trip hazard.
Filling the bath took quite a long time and was very tricky to get in and out of because there were no handles for support. Only used the bath once because it felt dangerous for this reason. Nowhere to stand bath toiletries or a drink. Even a stool would have been useful.
There was so much unused space behind the bath and the bed.
Full breakfast first morning was awful, black pudding was hard, deep fat fried sausages tasted burnt and poached egg was a weird shape and overdone.
Apparently only sourdough bread available, no option of brown/ white sliced bread.
On returning to our room after that breakfast , we found the cleaner had only replaced the biscuits. The bed was unmade, the cups weren’t washed and the bins not emptied. Spoke to the manager and she said the room had been cleaned and that the cups had been changed and that they don’t usually make up the beds!
As we’re experienced in running a B&B this is definitely not acceptable.
The following 2 days of our stay these changes were rectified.
