Django Villa Weligama

Perfect for those who choose to work remotely. I was there for nearly 10 days & enjoyed my stay throughout, hosts Arto and Alayna were amazing.

Lack of amenities, mirror blanket etc. would be great if there was a breakfast service but other than that nothing really . Some little tweaks would make it better

The Villa was very aesthetically pleasing and the pool was nice, beds comfortable, rooms spacious & amenities are really good.

I think it’s a little over priced for what you can get elsewhere. The room we first booked didn’t have any blinds, which isn’t a problem if you are a morning person however the room was quite bright at night with all the light downstairs / security lights. We then moved to the one bedroom villa which didn’t feel like much of an upgrade considering it was double the price. The place has a lot of Russians staying there (long term?) it was quite strange and most were not that welcoming. They had a gathering/party one night with loud talking until around midnight. Plus you can hear everything through the walls (even the man snoring next door!) The location is out of town, but I guess that makes it quiet. I probably wouldn’t recommend this place for the price.

Wunderschöne und gepflegte Anlage etwas außerhalb von Weligama direkt neben den Reisfeldern. Das Zimmer war groß und das Bett eines der bequemsten die wir bisher in Sri Lanka hatten. Der Pool hatte die perfekte Temperatur und der Blick über die Reisfelder war wunderschön. Es gibt eine große Gemeinschaftsküche und sogar einen Grill. Zu Fuß sind es ca 25min an den Strand, wir haben aber meist in TukTuk genommen, die unten an der Straße immer zu erwischen sind.

First and foremost, the managers of the property were excellent and attentive on a daily basis. The property itself was clean and spacious with a washing machine and cooking facilities available. A swimming pool, living/working space and kitchen is also available, which was great. The bed was comfortable.

The location was far away from the centre of Weligama, so it was impossible to get a PickMe taxi to pick us up. We had to walk 5 minutes minimum to get a taxi. Furthermore, the property has absolutely zero sound-proofing. Every single night, our sleep was unfortunately disturbed by other hotel guests coming home late and talking loudly, cleaning staff speaking loudly at very early hours, loud music playing at very early hours from neighbours, or animals making scratching noises in the roof. All of these sounds were incredibly loud and unfortunately this impacted our stay significantly.
