Casa Alba Modern Boho Villa with private Pool near to Sea, Paphos

We liked the location (to a point) although quickly realised you need a car here, as there's no footpaths anywhere around and everything is a good 20 mins walk away (minimum) with little street lighting. The beds were ok, Aircon worked well.

The pool area was very dirty! We asked to have it cleaned on our first day, the next day someone cleaned the pool bottom and you could see it turn from green back to blue, when we arrived there was dust and debris from the building work next door on every surface. We asked for this to also be cleaned but despite promises, it was never done. In the end we did it ourselves so we could use the outside area. The dishwasher didn't work, we were promised someone would come to take a look, but they never did. The kitchen was ill equipped, for example, there's only 3 forks and 2 knives in a villa for 6 ppl, so we couldn't eat together. The ensuite bathroom shower doesn't drain so water comes into the bedroom. Water also leaks under the back door into the kitchen if it rains, leaving puddles on the kitchen floor. BRING EAR PLUGS if you want to sleep. Go out in the day. The neighbours have dogs that bark loudly day and night. There's also construction work on the plots surrounding the villa. We brought up our concerns with the owner, he didn't respond for 24 hours on booking.com, so we found a WhatsApp number. He just kept telling us that the dust outside was just how Cyprus is, or that it was a problem with the grout between the tiling round the pool (which has lots of holes we kept catching toes on), but after we cleaned it ourselves, the dust didn't return, so we felt very fobbed off. Lamps in all but one bedroom don't work and pins are bent and broken. We also found lots of squashed bugs and other dirty marks on walls inside that no one has cleaned in a while.

Spacious rooms and it smelt clean when we arrived but could do with a bit more in depth cleaning of the sofa and especially around the garden area which didn’t affect us as we literally just slept there but I appreciate that there’s building work at the rear of the property so appreciate dust gets everywhere. Owner was very responsive and quick to answer any questions. What was handy was teabags, coffee etc left by previous guests were in the cupboards to use but silly me forgot to buy milk.

You could hear a lot of noise especially at night through the windows so could do with updated windows and or triple glazing. Fortunately I had my earplugs but it did affect one of our guests. Sofa could do with a deep clean, but I appreciate not all guests look after the furniture but it would

Pool ladders were dangerous , not being fixed to the pool so that they came out of their fittings as you tried to get out of the pool. Risk of an accident if not resolved. Noisy due to pack of dogs barking through out the night in the neighbouring villa, so sleep was constantly interrupted in the middle of the night. Next door to dog groomers business. This really let down our experience. Ants in the kitchen from gaps under the kitchen doors made easy access for them. A number of minor cosmetic issues with holes in the walls.
