About this house rental
The Orplid House is one of the oldest buildings in Hörnum—over 100 years old and steeped in history.
Situated on the dunes, centrally located in town yet pleasantly quiet, it offers a wonderful view and a very special atmosphere beneath its thatched roof.
With approximately 150 m² of living space spread over two levels, it is generously laid out and ideal for families of up to 10 people. The furnishings are simple and traditional, yet well-maintained and cozy—not modern design, but a home with character and plenty of warmth.
On the first floor, you’ll find a living room with a fireplace, a separate dining room, a well-equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, a bathroom with a shower, and a separate restroom. The bright sunroom is particularly lovely; from there, you have direct access to the terrace—equipped with two beach chairs, perfect for relaxing.
On the upper floor, there are three additional bedrooms: a small room with a single bed, a larger room with a bunk bed and an extra single bed, and the master bedroom with a double bed. There is also another bathroom with a shower here.
The two parking spaces (one at ground level right next to the house) are convenient, and a washer and dryer are available for your use—though the dryer is only available in the summer.
This thatched-roof house is not a new construction—rather, it’s a piece of Hörnum’s history that offers you an authentic, cozy stay in a unique location. The house is rather simply furnished—but that is precisely what gives it its special character and charm.
