About this cottage rental
Located above Manesty Park and on the mountain path to Catbells summit, it is the ideal base for a holiday packed with outdoor activities and a cozy retreat to relax.
The designated gravel path leads you towards the far corner of the single level building. Two steps up to approach a low wooden gate, opening onto a decked area with expansive views of beautiful Derwent Water, mighty Skiddow and Blencathra mountains, and stunning Borrowdale fells.
The front door opens onto a bright retro style kitchen with a big island. The kitchen is well equipped with a large double door fridge and freezer, microwave, cooker and oven, dishwasher and washing machine, and all essential equipment for you to cook a meal and enjoy it at the dining table.
The bright and spacious living room has a wood burning stove to keep you warm and cozy in colder months. The large 3 seater sofa and big armchair provides ample space for you to lounge and relax. The free WiFi, freesat TV, dvd player, board games, books keep you entertained on rainy days and evenings.
The bedroom has a king bed, with double wardrobe, a set of drawers and bedside cabinets, all in solid pinewood.
The bathroom has shower above the bathtub and wash basin, the toilet is separate.
The private spring water supply comes directly from Catbells fell and is treated with a UV filtration system, pure and free of chemicals. The tap water is safe to drink and you'll notice the light texture and fresh taste. Hot water is always available and the pressurised system provides a power shower.
A complimentary basket of wood for the log burner will be provided in colder months. You can purchase more logs at fuel stations in Keswick if needed.
You have access to the whole cottage and decking, the large common garden and woods, private exit to the mountain path and road leading to the lake shore.
The owner and host live next door with her little family including their well behaved dog Jack in The Lodge, one side of which attaches to the back of the cottage, nearby for helps if needed yet far enough away for your privacy.
The cottage is best suited for people looking for an activity holiday in nature, or a cozy retreat to recharge and relax. Not really suited for people with mobility issues.
