Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District puts you within walking distance of a wide variety of top-notch local flavors! Make new friends over fries and poutine at the Cartopia food cart pod, get messy with wings at Fire on the Mountain on East Burnside, share a pie at Apizza Scholls.
Portland isn't just for foodies; the vibrant indie spirit of Hawthorne is alive with plenty of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore. Catch a movie at the Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. The apartment was very cute and clean and the location is fantastic. The host was super responsive and helpful. A few minor things to note in case they matter to you: the mattress is very soft; the microwave is on a shelf above the refrigerator - there’s a step stool but it can be tricky for things like soup; there’s very little counter space in the kitchen. Other than that the living room is spacious, the couch is full size and very comfortable for watching tv, and the bedroom is light and airy. A solid choice in a great, walkable area.
