Casa Aulaga by Villalize

Easy. The code was sent to us before arrival. All very clear instructions.

Nothing!

This is a place we can highly recommend. We stayed for one week at this wonderful location and had a really perfect time. The building is new and thoughtfully furnished, the unit is very modern and spacious but still cozy. On the terrace there are four comfortable sun-beds as well as a sun-protected lounge area and a grill are which adds nicely to the comfort. Also there is the roof deck which is perfect for a morning coffee for a glass of wine in the evening and enjoy the sun if weather permits. We stayed there with our grown-up daughter who appreciated her own bathroom. The heated pool was a plus as the temperature on Lanzarote was moderate but we could always have a swim in the pool. The pool is cleaned every 2-3 days which is also a good thing. One of the bathroom lights did not work when we arrived and we notified the friendly owner who not only responded immediately but replaced the bulb in the next hours. We had been welcomed with a nice package that included water, wine, chocolate, chips and cracker! As this place is very new some plants (something you can see on the pictures) are still small and the view is quite open but we did not mind this. in contrast we liked to not be surrounded by walls but appreciate the view to the mountain and palm tree. Also the area is very quiet with only some people walking their dogs and they never care for you being on the terrace. When there will be more plants and the ones already there having grown it will be the perfect view. The location is also good to explore the island, just 25 minutes by car from the Airport, same distance to Timanfaya and everything reachable in less then one hour. I could go on forever with praising as we had such a good time and will hopefully return.

Leaving

Casa Aulaga is the ideal base from which to explore the island. Recently built, everything is brand new and impeccably maintained. The fabulous pool was kept spotlessly clean and at a temperature that proved irresistible, even on a few cooler days. Throughout, the consideration shown by the owners was exemplary. Yaiza is a beautifully kept village, nestled between the mountain ranges and volcanos, for which the island is known. It is easily accessible from the airport and facilities of larger towns including Playa Blanca. Many of the island’s attractions are nearby, including the Timanfaya National Park and Salinas de Janubio. The immediate landscape is breathtaking, particularly around the incredible vineyards and bodegas that surround Yaiza and neighbouring Uga. A truly wonderful holiday home.

Het was een mooi huisje en met alle voorzieningen in de woning.

De locatie viel ons wat tegen, er is weinig privacy. De ramen in de woning zijn niet/amper bedekt waardoor je mogelijk bijvoorbeeld tijdens het douchen/uitkleden zichtbaar bent voor anderen. Ook in de woonkamer, met de lampen aan ben je zichtbaar voor iedereen. Ook in en om het zwembad ben je zichtbaar voor iedereen, al meerdere keren gehad dat mensen je aan zitten te staren die langslopen. Dat hebben wij als onprettig ervaren. Ook hangt er een condenspijpje van de airco gewoon los aan de buitenmuur, bij enige wind hoor je dat s’nachts en lig van het getik wakker omdat de woning erg gehorig is.
