Velora Ridge

Had a pleasant stay. The breakfast was really good.

There was so much space in the property, aircon and fans. Tv had international channels. Very convenient to Pallekele cricket stadium, only a quick tuk tuk ride away. Bed was very comfy, nice to have a seperate lounge room. There is a convenient corner store downstairs, for any needs. Our hosts were out of this world, very kind and caring, we felt like part of the family. The breakfast was extensive, the other Sri Lankan and western alternatives. We happened to be there on our 25th anniversary so we were treated to a cake with candles which was a very touching gesture. A very enjoyable stay.

Nothing

There was nothing I didn’t like , the hosts, there family , they have two very polite , well behaved children the young girl is learning English, and doing very well, the breakfast is sensational, there is so much of it , all expertly cooked by the lady , who I understand gets up at 5am ish to prepare it all , I truly can’t praise them enough, he gave me and my girlfriend a lift too and home from the cricket on the third match he was otherwise engaged, the rooms are brand new or at least look brand new, the bed , bedding is of the highest quality, lovely shower hot water , not all hotels have hot water, very few mosquitoes, apart from down by the nearby river , where I done a fair bit of bird watching ,I’ve been to Sri Lanka 15 times , this is one of if not the best I’ve been too , they run a shop under the hotel rooms and you can buy all essentials there , won’t hesitate too rebook when England are playing cricket up the road, I would say like all of the kandy area it is hilly , not suitable if your in a wheelchair, but then nor is kandy it’s very hilly, thankyou to the hosts and family really enjoyed my stay here and England; won the series 3 nill

Leaving , I’m off to west coast for 1 night , then home
