Sushi Art Hotel at Kamiisshiki寿司アートホテルat上一色

Very nice host even though we didn't meet in person, they answered all our questions very quickly. The house was clean and looked just like what the pictures showed. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could need, and there was enough space for 5 adults to move around without issue. Everything worked as it should. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and there are nice local shops and restaurants a few minutes away.

We had to walk 15-20min to Koiwa station every time we went somewhere and came back, so the location isn't ideal, but it's not bad. There were no small lamps or nightlights in the house, so we either had to sit under very bright LEDs which was unpleasant during the night or sit in the dark. This is such a minor thing it's practically not worth mentioning, but I am leaving it as a suggestion, otherwise a prefect accommodation.

Location was perfect, very very close to the friends we were visiting. Host was very responsive to messages, very prompt. However, there are stairs and no coffee or tea, even for the 1st day. A long steep narrow staircase was not mentioned in the description, which seems standard in Tokyo but we were not expecting it. Bad knees made this difficult for me, especially since the bathroom is downstairs and bedrooms are upstairs. No way to get suitcases up, we left them in living room & dressed there; since we were only 2, that wasn't a problem. There's an electric kettle to boil water, glad I brought instant coffee.. It's a very nice place, and I suppose it would be spacious if you didn't have to keep big suitcases in the living room.
