Buchanan Penthouse

There were clear instructions on how to get in and what we needed to do when leaving which made getting in very easy. This was great because it meant after traveling we didn’t have to be getting in touch and stressing trying to drop off our bags. The place was nice and large, comfortable and had everything we needed for the short stay. Also was close to the train station which was great.

There wasn’t anything bad about it really it was just a nice place to stay and was what I was expecting.

The location was great.

The shower sprayed everywhere.

The apartment is really spacious, good living area, great for getting something to eat before heading out and having breakfast. The location is right in the city centre, which is handy for both train stations and exploring. The towels were fluffy and the sheets we're clean and the kitchen is well equipped. The view from the balcony is great. Overall a good apartment.

However, we couldn't take a shower in the main bathroom as the housing for the shower head was broken. The one in the ensuite worked better but is also seems to be on its way out. Both could benefit from an upgrade. The apartment wasn't dirty by any means, but it was quite dusty, especially in the double bedroom, even the headboard had visible dust along the top of it. If the apartment had a good clean it would be better. I would also prefer a mirror in bedroom, but thats just a preference of mine for getting ready. There was one in the livingroom which helped. Also, if you're a light sleeper bring earplugs, we did stay on a Saturday night which can be noisier than other evenings but even with the windows closed they didn't keep out much of the noise from outside. I think the girls in the twin room we're fine as they were facing into the courtyard. But as I say overall it is a good apartment, with some little tweaks it would be great.

Perfect location for a place to stay, so handy for all the shops and restaurants. A lovely spacious flat with an excellent view, also feels very safe and secure. Lots of natural light so the flat is very bright and well lit. The host was very responsive and quick to reply to any messages which was helpful. We would say the flat needs a bit of work, and tlc to improve the stay

There were a few small issues we had during our stay: Firstly the lift up to the flat was broken - although it is not a fault of the flat itself it would have been nice to know in advance as there are a lot of steps to carry large suitcases up or for anyone who is less able. The next problem was that any outside noise was very loud in the flat. If you are a light sleeper be aware that you hear a lot of street noise. And the twin room has lots of banging from the stairwell doors. The double bed is also very loud and squeaky so you can't move without hearing it. Lastly the flat is in need of some tlc- the main bathroom door doesn't shut never mind lock. So we had to place a bin in front of it to indicate someone was using it as it was always slightly open. There is a few things broken around the flat including the lock on the balcony door, so it is always open and the table is so wobbly its not for using.
