Janela da Aldeia

Flores is a VERY special place. And so is this family who shares their home with their guests! Orian, Guy and of course young Gaia are such lovely hosts, probably the most caring we‘ve ever met (and we travel a lot). They basically share their home with their guests, and you are welcome to mingle if you like. We came as customers and left as friends after a week (our flight was delayed for two days, which happens a lot, and they were able to let us stay). There is one double room with a private bathroom and two double rooms with a shared bathroom. Very clean, comfortable and enough space for travelers. Our room even had a dehumidifier! Side note: it’s officially without breakfast, but they’re offering free tea and coffee and cookies and muffins… all day😉 plus you can use the kitchen whenever you what. Lomba is a great spot for exploring the island and they can give you all kinds of useful information. Don’t miss out on a trip to Corvo and spend the day in the Caldera- if the weather permits. There is an official ferry and also organized tours which also include the north coast of Flores. In total: Janela da Adelia is Highly recommended!

We got two „bonus days“ due to flight cancellations caused by adverse weather (which happens a lot) - and we’re very lucky we could stay with them for the extra nights.

Amazing hospitality and great vibe. The facilities are basic but complete.

Nice appartement in a lovely neighbourhood, very centralized. We felt comfortable.
