Beautiful cottage, fantastic location and wonderful woods on your door step
If we were staying for a whole week, would have needed a washing machine. But not needed for 4 day stay.

The cottage is in a beautiful position in the New Forest with ponies, donkeys, etc roaming freely outside. The cottage had everything we needed. The local pub/restaurant 3 minute walk offered lovely meals and staff extremely friendly. Also dog friendly. Cottage ideally situated to visit local areas. Will definitely return.

When we arrived the property was warm and welcoming with a lovely hamper with some choice goodies. We loved the cottage atmosphere and lay out, facilitating a relaxed stay; the log fire, and its excellent supply of logs, was very much appreciated, adding a toasty atmosphere on a January evening. The location was perfect, very close to a great pub and with the New Forest right outside, bird song was amazing first thing. There was a slight problem with the heating, but after contacting Mud Huts they arranged for the owners to take a look and it was sorted quickly, to our satisfaction.
Nothing to add, loved it and we will be back.

The location is good- Forest ponies frequently graze just across the (quite busy) road and a friendly pub is about a two minute walk. A French restaurant with great food is almost as close and Nomansland , where the cottage is located,is great for accessing many things in this lovely area. The kitchen -though very small-is clean and well equipped as is the bathroom. The double bedroom is spacious with drawers and bedside cabinets and the bed comfortable. Due to the thick walls of this very old cottage, the ground floor was reasonably cool during the heatwave. The electric fans were very welcome. Plenty of towels.
We had very serious concerns about safety. The owners have been informed via the managing agent so the problem should be addressed. The man in issue is that the upstairs windows, the sills of which are only about 6 -12 inches off the floor , open very widely making it EXTREMELY easy for a child, pet or even an adult to fall onto the gravel yard below. There is no restriction on the opening of the windows. See photo. Our first reaction on entering the cottage was dismay as the walls in the entrance hall-which is used as a dining room-have been finished in traditional lime plaster which is badly marked, crumbling and gouged. It appears to be damp in places. The vinyl floor is wet, particularly in the evenings, making it slippery. See photos. Even had it not been a heatwave, sleeping under a 10 tog duvet in summer would have been difficult. There are no wardrobes presumably because of the low sloping ceilings, but the landing has a rail. No drawers for the user of the tiny single room to store clothing so it has to remain in a case on the landing as the room is too small for a case to fit in. There seems to be a pest problem in the garden as we saw rats there in daylight on two separate occasions. There was only one tea towel and one dishcloth. The bath is not draining well and the toilet seat needs to be prised from the lid . The stairs are extremely steep and narrow making access to the ground floor bathroom tricky especially in the night. The sofas are badly stained.
